 ▋ Delaying Public Access to Thesis/Dissertation

  1. Article 16 of the Degree Conferral Act and Article 15, paragraph 2, subparagraph 3 of the Copyright Act, "where the work is a Masters thesis or doctoral dissertation written under the 'Degree Conferral Act' and the author has obtained a degree,"  "the author shall be presumed to have consented to the public release of the work."  And, the thesis/dissertation will be made available to the public to read within the Library in print form or by accessing electronic data files using independent equipment.

  2. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, public access to a thesis/dissertation can be delayed for 5 years at most.

 


 

►For Electronic Thesis/Dissertation

  1. When uploading the electronic file of thesis/dissertation, you should fill in the date of  "Copyright License Agreement" on which the work is to be open to public access.

    • Delaying Public Access of Electronic Thesis

  2. The date for public access you fill in on the system pertains only to the electronic copy of the thesis/dissertation. If you wishes to delay access to the print copies, you should follow the application process below.

 

►For Print Thesis/Dissertation

You may request that publication be delayed if any of the following circumstances applies:

  • Contains information pertaining to the secret.

  • Filing for patent registration.

  • Withheld according to the law. Please specify.

 

Procedures

  1. Under the above-mentioned circumstances, you can apply to delay or prevent public access. Please fill out the "Application for Embargo of Thesis/Dissertation".

  2. The application form should contain the signatures of the applicant's adviser and the director of the graduate institute.

  3. Upload the form to NCUT ETDS System (國立勤益科技大學 博碩士論文系統).

  4. After passing the review, hand over to the Library with a print copy of the thesis/dissertation when applying for the graduation procedure.

  5. After passing the review, hand over "Application for Embargo of Thesis/Dissertation" to the library with a print copy of the thesis/dissertation when applying for the graduation procedure.
